Over the last two months South Africa hosted three big sporting events. The 2009 Confederations Cup, the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Lions Rugby Tour took the country by storm!
The IPL showed the country`s flexibility to host a tournament with only a couple of weeks notice, after the IPL was moved from Sri Lanka to South Africa due to security concerns.
The biggest event – especially for this region- was the Lions Tour. Tens of thousands of UK tourists came to see the test matches with South Africa`s Springboks. All Open Safari Vehicles available in the Kruger National Park had been sold out months before the tournament after thousands of Lions fans descended on the Sabie Valley region to enjoy the Park between the games in Pretoria and Johannesburg.
South Africa proved that it is possible!
