FIFA World Cup 2010: Accommodation available

In June 2009 Dreamfields Guesthouse signed a contract with Match (FIFA) to be an official supplier for accommodation during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Despite many critics – especially from the fans point of view - the owners had their reasons and decided to go that way.

Being a small guesthouse the 2010 World Cup is very important. The region close to the Kruger National Park and the Mbombela Stadium will be visited by many, many fans and officials.
Unfortunately things did not go the way they were supposed to be and Dreamfields Guesthouse terminated the contract with Match today.

That is good news for people looking for World Cup accommodation! Please check the availability and rates online.

Kruger National Park: Lake Panic

Doing a self drive tour to Kruger National Park the Lake Panic Bird Hide is a must. Located on the S42 near Skukuza on the road to the Nursery you can reach this hide in less than an hours drive from Dreamfields Guesthouse.
The beauty of the hide is that almost anything can turn up. You will find a large selection of water birds such as herons, fish eagles, storks, kingfishers and crakes.
Make sure you check under the floorboards when you enter the hide – often you will find a hippo sleeping under there.

FIFA World Cup 2010 – Mbombela Stadium

The Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, is one of the newly built stadiums, with a capacity of 46 000. It will host four first-round matches and it takes its name from the local municipality which incorporates the city of Nelspruit. Mbombela is siSwati (one of the 11 official languages in South Africa) and literally means 'many people together in a small space.'
Before the Stadium's construction, Nelspruit had no top football venue to host international matches. After the FIFA 2010 World Cup, the stadium is scheduled to be a multipurpose facility where diversified sporting activities will take place including rugby and cricket while it will also be equipped with conference facilities.
The Mbombela Stadium also enjoys a close proximity to various game parks, giving spectators the opportunity to see the wildlife during rest days.

People looking for World Cup accommodation find Dreamfields Guesthouse Hazyview, about 60 km away from the Mbombela Stadium and only 10 km from the Kruger National Park, the ideal base to combine the football experience with a visit to the Kruger National Park, the Blyde River Canyon and many other activities.
